History
In January 1995, the Philippine commission within the Department of Transport and Communications, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) granted a certificate of public convenience and necessity or provisional authority to install, operate and maintain telecommunications, broadcasting and cable antenna television services Destiny Cable Inc., and pay cable television services to Metro Manila and municipalities nearby towns and provinces.
Destiny Cable Inc. began marketing promotion through solid Group Inc., offering packages of services: television Cable and electronics and has provided the latest in building a distinctive place in the cable industry. Solid Group Inc. was then known for manufacturing and marketing of leading brands in electronics.
Global Cable
On February 3, 1993, Global Cable Inc. has received a provisional authority to provide cable television services. The National Telecommunications Commission granted Global Cable Inc. a certificate authority to construct, install, maintain and operate an antenna cable TV (CATV) system in San Pedro, Laguna May 1993. Consequently, Global Cable Inc. was allowed to operate and maintain a television system Cable in the municipality of San Juan and in the cities of Mandaluyong, Makati, Pasay, Manila, Marikina, Paranaque and Muntinlupa.
Global merger with Cable
In November Destination 2003 cable formed a partnership with Global Cable to strengthen and systematize their cable TV companies. The two companies merged to form Destiny Cable World.
Global Destiny Cable is perceived as the closest competitor of SkyCable in Metro Manila. Both have their own partners around the country and both offer cable service to high-speed Internet to their respective subscribers.
